Small Business Month - What holds me back

{Dress: Forever 21, Leggings: Forever 21,
Jacket: Ambercrombie & Fitch - thrifted, High Heels: Charlotte Rouse}

Remember my post about goals?
Well I am still joining in on Small Business Month over at Three's 4 me!
It's not too late and I think you should join me.

Today's link up challenge is "Since we have written out our goals like a Fortune 500 CEO would, what has been holding you back from executing those goals? Time? Sales Force? Capital? Equipment? A lack of networking opportunities?"

Goals from Tuesday

1. My business will have 10 more items in my Etsy Shop
by December 1, 2011.

2. My business will have attended two boutique/craft fairs by
December 31, 2011.

3. My business will have added 5 new customers by
December 15, 2011.

I felt like these were very reasonable goals, so I really had to sit back and take a look just to
understand what has been holding me back thus far.

1. I have been held back by the first one
because of TIME.

Going to school in the morning, working full time as a secretary and then coming home
to do homework, etc. I just don't make time for my etsy shop.

          2. I have been held back by the second one

because of NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES.

I used to get invited to be a vendor at boutiques all the time but I have not
had the opportunity for a while now.
I still keep in touch with the people who invited me in the past
but I guess another thing that has held me back
from asking them if they are going to hold another boutique is FEAR.
FEAR is such an ugly word...

I HAVE TO GET RID OF FEAR!

To get rid of fear I just need to put myself out there. I need to face the
thing that scares me the most.
I will ask at least two people if they are having a boutique
any time soon and if I can join them.
The worst that can happen is a NO, so it really is no big deal!

3. I have been held back by the third one

because of LACK OF PRODUCT.

If I don't have product in my store, how do I expect to
sale product and make new customers?
That is just not possible!
I also don't have money to invest in sponsorships and advertising.
And the way to make money is to sell items.
So I need to find other ways to advertise on my own for now.

ITS TIME FOR ME TO STEP IT UP!

It's time for me to step it up by holding a giveaway, on my
OWN BLOG to start!
I promised myself I would hold a giveaway
when my blog reach 50 followers.
We just barely made it past so this
week we are going to CELEBRATE!!!

EXPECT A GIVEAWAY SOON!!!

I am linking up with:

COME ON OVER AND JOIN ME!

SO THAT HAS TO CHANGE!

To fix this I am going to write out my daily schedule/plan every single night
for the upcoming day. This will keep me on schedule and allow
me to "squeeze" the important things into my day.
I am going to make sure that I am working on items for my shop
at least 4 days out of the week to give me the push that I need to accomplish
my goal.

You have some awesome goals and I definitely can't wait to see more of your products. I like the idea of using your cards to thank people for orders in my business so I am definitely going to share this with my Shaklee team because it is a nice affordable touch to show my customers I appreciate them. Also I would be willing to post something on my blog. Email me if you're interested.

These are great ideas. Now I need to go back and tweak mine a little more. :) Thanks for sharing.

I know I'm totally late, but I'm so glad to read that you have come up with solid plans as to overcome those hindrances! It's really inspiring, actually! That's what I need to do, too, and good for you for balancing everything you balance! (i.e. working full time! Nuts!)
