I love Monday's. For me Mondays are a chance for new beginnings. I love getting out my
day planner on Sunday evening and planning my whole week out it those tiny little lines.
I love thinking back upon the week and realizing what I did well that week. I then
write down what I did not do so well and how I will work on this next week.
As I was completing this list, I realized one of the things I need to work on is thinking more
of others on a consistent basis when I am just living my life. Sometimes I focus to much
on the task I am trying to complete or the mood I am in at the moment and I forget to
look up and do something so simple as go out of my way to make a person feel loved.
It's sad. It's sad that I sometimes forget to do that. It's sad that I sometimes focus on how
much I have to do and the time limit that I am on that I forget to hold a door open for the person
behind me. Sometimes it's not just that I am too busy but that I am too reserved. When I see
a little girl, my immediate reaction is to tell her that she is a little princess and she better
dream big because those dreams will come true one day, but then I stop myself. I become
to afraid to say it as I wonder what she will think of me. What will her parents think?
I know that it will makes this girls day and if she listens to the words I say, it could possibly
have an effect on what she believes or what goals she may actually pursue but
I still don't say those words.
Why do I let fear hold me back from reaching out to people the way I would like to?
I don't exactly have the answer but this week I want to take it one step at a time
going out of my way.
One of my best friends, Stacey-Marie Hansen was Miss Murray 2010.
Her platform was 'Pay it 4 ward'. It was brilliant. Pay it 4 ward is a program and a way of life
to turn your thoughts to others.
So this week my goal is to see how many days I can serve all 4 of these people by going out of my way!
What's your goal??
