It is Make A Difference Monday
Today I have a treat for you that is beyond special. I asked Nina, a woman who I
think is SO INCREDIBLE to share a story with you!
And her being the sweet and loving person that she is said YES!
What an honor to it is to introduce her, if you don't follow
her already GO NOW!!!

Nina from Momma Go Round is here today
to share with you a story...a story that has touched
my heart and inspired me to think twice.
It is a story that brings love, joy and hope to my heart
and I am sure it will touch your heart as well.
Nina is my inspiration.
She is the woman that I look to for fashion ideas.
She is the momma that sacrifices oh so very much, oh how I admire her for that.
She is the blog owner that is so successful and who I turn to for advice.
She is simply an American citizen who delivers hope.
Take it away Nina

Lately, I see them everywhere. I usually drive by like I don't see them. Pretend to do something else. Change the radio. Go the back way into Target just to avoid sitting at the light next to them. Just don't make eye contact.
Normally, I'm a terribly hard-hearted person.
"Why are you sitting here day after day? Go DO something!"
It's even more awful looking at it in writing than in my own head.
But yesterday, something was different. Something changed.
I pulled into a gas station and saw at the far end a mother and daughter. The mom was holding a sign that simply said "Down on my luck". Nothing more was needed... somehow I understood.
Maybe it was because her daughter was with her.
Maybe it was because her daughter wasn't any older than 5. Maybe it was because she only seemed a little older than me.
But something hit me. Something changed.
I was already planning on pulling into the McDonald's next door to grab a "don't fall asleep while driving" snack, but now I knew I had to. I knew that little girl needed me....I just knew.
I ordered the chicken nuggets, apples, and milk.
A toy to make her smile.
so big when I handed her that meal. It maybe the first or fifteenth one she'd gotten that day, but she was as grateful as a child could be.
Her mother looked at me with that look that only a mother can give.
Her thank you was overshawdowed by the smile on her face.
That's all I could offer. I didn't have any cash...and I don't know if that would have been the right call.
I could offer a meal. Protein, fruit, and milk. The most wholesome thing I could think to get at McDonald's. I knew for that night, she would have a good meal in her tummy and a new toy to snuggle with at night.
It makes me cry just writing this thinking about that little girl. She was so gracious and smiled
And my face was covered in tears as I pulled back onto the freeway.
For one minute. For one meal. For one night, that little girl was taken care of.
***Eight Months Later*** Months have now past since I delievered that box to the sweet little girl at the gas station. I have driven by that random exit on the freeway many times since, and every time I wonder if she is still there. Is she still hungry? Does she have a place to stay? Will she have a coat this winter? One of these times, I will stop by and see. See if there is anything else I can do. While I haven't felt impressed to help another since then, I feel like I'm listening closer to that still, small voice everytime I see someone in need. Is this the person who needs me?

Isn't Nina just inspiring?
If you are like me you are now in tears and have every desire in your heart to go
and change the world as you bring hope to those struggling.
You are thinking of every possible way to put an end to world hunger.
You are thinking of every possible way to put an end to world hunger.
Although we can't end it alone, imagine if this week we each were a little
more observant to the needs of those around us.
Just imagine if we all took one small step of action to lighten the burdens of
someone who may really need hope in their life.
Imagine if those small steps had a HUGE impact! on one person
or even the world!!
JUST IMAGINE!
